Coral Garden is an immersive light installation created by third-year Product Development Lab students from CTCA.
Inspired by the ethereal beauty of coral reefs, with their otherworldly forms and luminous colours, the students embarked on an exploratory journey through diverse manufacturing techniques to craft a collection of sculptural coral-like light covers.
Each piece is unique not only in its organic shape and delicate form, but also in the distinctive construction methods employed. From traditional hand-sculpting in foam, paper, and mesh, to precision digital processes such as laser cutting and 3D printing, every design reflects meticulous prototyping, testing, and refinement to achieve both perfect functionality and an evocative atmospheric mood.
Together, they form a living canvas of light, creativity, and boundless imagination.
